Real Madrid Atlético de Madrid
La Liga Matchday 31
Real Madrid return to the Santiago Bernabéu 21 days after their last game in front of the home fans. Their opposition this time around: Atlético in the first Madrid derby of 2018 (4:15pm CEST). The Whites won against Las Palmas and played brilliantly in Turín. Zidane’s team will try to keep up the good run of results before playing the return leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie with Juventus.
The Whites are looking to close the gap on their Madrid rivals in LaLiga and could be on for a seventh consecutive win. Getafe (3-1), PSG (1-2), Éibar (1-2), Girona (6-3), Las Palmas (0-3) and Juventus (0-3) have all lost to Real Madrid.
Best moment of the season
“We want to continue living this great moment against Atlético. Intensity will be important for us”, Zidane explained today. The stats prove that this is the team’s best moment of the season and that has been helped by Cristiano Ronaldo’s breath-taking form. The Portuguese has scored in the last 9 games he has featured in, netting 19 goals. The last of those was the sublime overhead kick in Turin, prompting a standing ovation from both sets of fans at Juventus’ Stadium.
